Doctors Hope New Packaging Will Keep Kids Away From Cannabis Candy
MSN.COM - If there's one thing worse than your damn kids getting at your THC-laced
treats, it is having to drive them to the hospital afterwards.
Colorado legalized medical marijuana in 2009, 14 kids have been taken to
hospital (although none have died) after chowing down on Mom and Dad's
yummy-looking cannabis candies.
Now, there's a push for products to be
packaged in childproof wrappers — which seems sensible enough, but not
everyone's behind the idea.
According to medical marijuana peddler Robin
Hackett, the financial and environmental costs are prohibitive and such
measures would prove pointless. "Unfortunately, we can't write laws
around 'dumb'," she said.
