Elderly Woman Holds Intruder At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive
SPOKANE, Wash. - A man attempted to break into a business and then a home early Wednesday in Spokane only to be held up at gun point by the elderly woman who owned the home until police arrived.
Police say the man tried to break into a business at 2700 N. Pittsburg just after midnight. He smashed in the door and when he noticed that people nearby had heard the commotion, he ran off.
He then attempted to break into a home on Dalton and Crestline. He kicked in the back door of the home and was met at gun point by the elderly woman who lived in the home. She fired a warning shot and continued to hold the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
When police arrived, the man tried to run away. Police sent k9 units after the suspect and detained him. He was arrested on multiple charges.
The suspect is currently in the hospital recovering from minor injuries.
