NBCRightNow.com - Boeing's 787 Dreamliner is one step closer to getting back in the air.Boeing says it finished over half of the testing on its proposed battery fix, with the rest of the ground and flight tests coming in the next several days. They say results have been in line with the early testing Boeing did as it developed the fix. Ground testing is continuing at Boeing labs in Seattle.Boeing says a flight to demonstrate the fix to the Federal Aviation Administration will happen soon. It says a separate 787 test flight Wednesday is unrelated to the battery issues. Boeing designed what it hopes is a fix for the smoking batteries that led to the planes being grounded in mid-January. The redesign requires FAA approval before airlines fly the planes again.
