Americans move forward into early off-season

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are moving forward into their off-season. It is three weeks earlier than last year, but they still have to move on. The Ams already named Mitch Topping their new captain. Tri-city is having exit meetings with everyone, reviewing the whole season on a large and individual basis, but it is just so soon this year.

"It's different every year. This year we're just so disappointed because we felt we went out too early. It's -- sometimes you go as far as you can go and have a good run. We have in recent years. Everybody is tired. You realize you did everything you could. We just feel like it's just too early for us. It's got a different feel," head coach Jim Hiller said.
