Yakima Valley Soccer League Promotes Health & Safety

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.--Teams from all over the region worked up a good sweat during the Yakima Valley Soccer League Playoffs Sunday.

This year, the indoor league is sporting 36 teams, which is ten more than they had last year.

The president of the league, Victor Monreal, said he wants to see it grow even more because it's a good way to get families together and promote both health and safety.

"It's huge because it brings the community," said Monreal. "I have a lot of high school players that are right now here playing instead of being out there in the streets, they're in here."

This is only the second year the league's been around.

If you want to get involved, outdoor soccer will start at the end of this month and run through September.
