WALLA WALLA, Wash.-- An early morning shooting in Walla Walla Sunday left one man dead.
Walla Walla police said a drunken fight between friends led to one man's death.
At 6:30am Sunday, police responded to a 911 call that a man was shot at a house on the 1200 block of Belle Street.
Police found Joshua White, age 35, dead on the kitchen floor.
Police said the man who made the emergency call told officers he had shot White.
Police said the men got into a physical fight, White was asked to leave and then returned to the house and kicked in the door.
Officer said that's when White was shot to death.
"What is unusual about this shooting is that these two acquaintances had really not had any problems between them and that this night of partying led to a physical confrontation, then turned deadly when the shot gun was brought out," said Officer Tim Bennett, Walla Walla Police.
Cindy Mercado, who lives in the neighborhood, was shocked to hear about the shooting.
"I live about half a block away from here and I was just surprised and appalled. I've never seen anything like this happen in my neighborhood here," Mercado said.
Police are questioning the shooter, but no arrests have been made at this time.
