Construction Moving Forward at Eisenhower & Davis High Schools

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Construction crews at Davis High School are working to finish a new math and science wing by the fall.

The wing is part of a major remodel of Davis High.

Crews are completing the work in phases so students can still use the existing buildings.

Contractors plan to have the new wing, and a new cafeteria building completed by the start of the 2013 school year.

The next phase will involve knocking down Building C across from the new wing.

"If a person hadn't been in this town for five years, and they came back to take a look at the progress, they would be amazed, and I think it's a real credit to Yakima," said Jim Wright with the Yakima School District.

Crews also say Eisenhower construction is still somewhat behind, but they expect it to finish it in time for school this fall.

WASHINGTON: It's barely pumpkin latte season and already signs are up advertising *flu* shots! One vaccine that's been off the market for a couple years is back this year. Two years ago the nasal spray vaccine was taken off the market because the Center for Disease Control said it was no longer effective for that particular flu season. For those who tend to get a little needle frantic, the CDC now says this year's nasal spray vaccine should be effective for this year's flu strain. I...More >>
