Richland School District Selects Three Finalists for Superintendent

RICHLAND, Wash. -- The Richland School Board has chosen three finalists for the position of Superintendent of the school district. The finalists are:

 - Mr. Joel Aune, Superintendent of the Snoqualmie Valley School District in Snoqualmie, Washington

- Dr. Rick Schulte, Superintendent of the Oak Harbor School District in Oak Harbor, Washington


- Dr. John Steach, Superintendent of the Canby School District in Canby, Oregon

Before becoming the superintendent of the Canby School District in Oregon, Steach worked in Richland in 2004. He served on the Richland School Board for eight years and also worked as Deputy Superintendent of the Richland School District,  Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Executive Director of Support Services in Richland.

Board members will interview the finalists on April 16-18. One finalist will be interviewed each day. Interested community members will have the opportunity to interact with the finalists at public forums each day.

The public forums will be April 16-18 from 7:30 to 8:30 PM at the District Administration Building on 615 Snow Avenue in Richland.

After the three days of interviews, board members will make site visits to the finalists' current school districts.

The board is expected to select the new superintendent by the end of April.
