Suspects Caught After Breaking Into West Valley Home

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.--A tip from a neighbor helped police arrest two young men this morning for a burglary at a West Valley home.

Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies said a neighbor spotted the men stealing a large flat screen TV from a home along the 2000 block of Borton Road.

Deputies said the neighbor called the property owner who followed the suspects in his car while talking to officers on the phone. The suspects were pulled over at Ahtanum Road and South 16th Avenue.

"We ended up catching the two perpetrators for burglary because somebody took the time to call in, and very nicely done," said Sgt. Max James with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. "It's good. We got two burglars off the street for a moment."

Deputies said burglaries seem to be on the rise in the West Valley, Tieton and Highland areas.
