Cowboy Gathering and Music Festival Underway in Kennewick

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Cowboys from all over the country are coming to the Tri-Cities this weekend for the Columbia River Cowboy Gathering and Music Festival.

The 3-day event is packed full of western entertainment and even a kids corral for the little ones. About 2,500 people from around the nation are expected to show up each day.

"This is kind of a western part of the United States an so a lot of the culture that we're trying to retain is from the west. We're in a perfect place to have it, and the weather is pretty good this time of the year," said Event Director Budd Massengale.

The event is being held at the Benton County Fairgrounds. It runs through 10 p.m. Friday night, and will re-open Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. each day.

Tickets can be purchased at the fairgrounds for $20.
