Small Businesses Targeted in Kennewick Burglary String

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kennewick police are tracking a string of burglaries that have consistently occurred on Clearwater Avenue or within a few blocks of the street.

A dental office on the 400 block of North Conway Street reported a burglary this morning matching the break-in trend.

The burglaries started about two months ago and they all involve the thief breaking in through a window and taking cash and electronics. Police say they've all happened at small businesses.

Police believe the same burglars are likely behind the repeated thefts.

"These are not typical. These are unique. They've happened in the past but not in a series like this. They're happening repeatedly, consistently," said Cpl. Todd Dronen, Kennewick Police Department.

Officers say they typically see business thefts at retail locations, not smaller businesses.

Police want to warn businesses to not leave money inside overnight.

Detectives are still working to find any suspects in this string of burglaries.
