Dead Body Found on Railroad Tracks in Pendleton

Posted: Updated:

PENDLETON, Ore. - The Pendleton Police Department is investigating after a passerby found a dead body Sunday afternoon on railroad tracks near Southwest Second Street.

The East Oregonian reports officers are not yet releasing the identity but say he was a 22-year-old man from Pendleton. Police say the body was found on tracks not used by trains, so it is unlikely the person was hit by a train. They say there was nothing to indicate foul play.

A state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy Monday.
