Blocked Field Goal Sparks Sioux Falls over Tri-Cities

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Even a new quarterback couldn't fix the Tri-Cities Fever on-field problems. Friday the Fever lost to the Sioux Falls Storm, 56-43, their fourth straight loss, as they fall to 1-5. Tri-cities suffered a 20 minute scoring draught that Included a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. Quarterback Dante warren had four rushing and two passing touchdowns, but the blocked field goal was the big momentum swing.

"I think that was a big play for them, it kinda swung their way after that. And being down with the momentum going to their side it's kind of hard to kind of bounce back from that," said Lionell Singleton, Fever defensive back.

"It was the first swing of the game, yeah we had a blocked field goal that they scored a touchdown. We were all the way backed up and tried to kick a low line drive, it got blocked. Anytime it's blocked there's a protection error...we got beat yeah," added Adam Shackleford, Fever head coach.
