28-year-old Hospitalized After Stabbing in Yakima

YAKIMA Wash. -- A 28-year-old man is in the hospital tonight after police officers found him stabbed several times in home.

Yakima Police were called to the 200 block of North 2nd Street just after 1:30 PM Tuesday to check on a man that hadn't shown up for work that day.

Police arrived and forced entry into the apartment and found the 28-year-old on the floor.

Officers found a 42-year-old man, unconscious in the apartment, who had overdosed on over-the-counter medication.

The 42-year-old was taken to the hospital and released after receiving treatment.
During the investigation, further information revealed that the two men had been arguing inside the apartment and the 42-year-old man stabbed the victim at some point during the argument. After the stabbing, police say the 42-year-old intentionally overdosed on medications.

The victims remains in the hospital, undergoing treatment.

The suspect was booked into the Yakima County Jail for first degree assault.

The stabbing is still under investigation.
