The Seahawks will play four primetime games during 2013, and open their 38th season on the road against the Carolina Panthers, it was announced today when the league released the NFL schedule.

After the Sept. 8 opener against the Panthers, the Seahawks will play their home opener Sept. 15 against the defending NFC Champion 49ers at CenturyLink Field in a nationally televised game on NBC.

The Seahawks' other primetime games are against the Cardinals in Arizona (Thursday night, Oct. 17), the Rams in St. Louis (Monday night, Oct. 28) and at home against the Saints (Monday night, Dec. 2). There also is the possibility of being flexed into two Sunday night games later in the season, and the Seahawks have back-to-back road games against 49ers (Dec. 8) and Giants (Dec. 15) that could be moved to primetime depending on their significance at that point of the season.

Five of the Seahawks' first eight games are on the road, with five of the final eight at home – and for the third time in four years they will close the regular season at home against the Rams.

The dates of the team's previously announced preseason games also were set today.
