KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Today Kennewick High School student-athletes signed their collegiate letters of intent. About a dozen athletes made their commitments, half of them to four-year universities. Twins Vinnie and Alyssa Gonzalez will hit the college diamond. Bodie Simpson will play football at Pacific University. Carlee Rhodes will golf at Lewis-Clark State. Karissa Shiftlet to Concordia University for softball. The other half will continue athletics at community colleges.

"I like the girls on the team. They're really nice. I heard it's a good program, so might as well try it out. Getting way better for hopefully a four-year college," Panisesi Taimani said. She committed to play basketball at North Idaho College.

"Just the experience of getting to the next level. It's always something I've been wanting to get to. To finally be there, it's kind of surreal," Simpson added.
