KENNEWICK, Wash. - One of the fastest growing sports in the country will bring a thousand players to Tri-Cities. This weekend is the Three Rivers Lacrosse Shoot Out Tournament. Eight years ago lacrosse competition started in the Tri-Cities. Now about 120 children play the game locally. This weekend teams from throughout the region will play at Columbia Park. The fast-paced action draws keeps the kids playing.

"(My son) had heard about it, wanted to play, we didn't know what it was but we were like 'okay.' So we signed him up, and the very first time he went he came home just loving it. It's very fast paced, lots of stuff going on. I think the thing he really like about it is that you have to think, because it is so fast paced you have to think ahead, what's going to happen, where do I need to be, how do I stop this player," said Patricia Haggard, Three Rivers Lacrosse Club spokesman.
