KENNEWICK, Wash.- Second Harvest of the Tri-Cities area is an organization focused on collecting fresh produce and other foods and then distributing them out to food banks; all of this in the fight against hunger.
This week they're asking for help from the community in a big push to finish their new location in Pasco. The group asks for people of the Tri-Cities to contact their state legislator and ask them to preserve the budget of the organization.
"We've already seen a pretty significant increase in what we can distribute out of our warehouse," said Cassie Hurley of Second Harvest. "It's really wonderful that we're able to continue to feed those in need in our community and really expand that a little bit more."
