KENNEWICK, Wash.- The annual boat show took place this weekend in Richland.
Many water sport sales companies showed off their latest and most popular products including speed, fishing and pontoon boats. While recreational purchases have been less than popular in recent years, these companies see recovery ahead.
"Boat sales are one of the first things that people quit spending money on, but the last three or four years definitely have been an upswing," explained Steve Poire of Northwest Marine and Sport. "Last year was one of our best years ever in 15 years of doing this."
With temperatures starting to climb just in time for spring, the boating companies say they expect a huge seasonal rise in sales very soon.
