Commissioners Moving Forward with Vista Field Changes

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -  Port of Kennewick Commissioners are moving forward with change, after making the decision last week to close Vista Field.

During a meeting Tuesday afternoon, commissioners started the official legal process. The changes have to go through the City of Kennewick.

Commissioners say this is the next step in re-developing the land for commercial use.

"It's a plan that shows what development's we will do, and we have to work within that plan. So, if we look at changing zoning or doing anything like that, it needs to go through a process," said Port of Kennewick Commissioner Skip Novakovich.

Novakovich says the deadline to get the plan renewed is May 1st. The meeting also included public comment on the airport closure, including positive feedback.
