UPDATE: On Wednesday Justin Werle appeared in a Spokane county courtroom to face 1st degree assault charges. Police say Werle shot Zach Bergstrom in the neck after a heated argument.
Police say Bergstrom was shot in the neck but suffered non life threatening injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital. According to court documents Bergstrom was staying at the apartment complex on 2217 West Pacific doing handyman work for the managers. Police say Bergstrom and Werle knew each other.
Officers determined the suspect and victim had been in a long-standing feud. The victim was shot during an argument in the parking lot. The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Justin Werle, fled the scene on foot. Officers quickly responded to the area and locked down the scene.
Werle made contact with his family over a cell phone. Based on Werle's contact with his family, Police were able to determine his location and quickly arrest him in an area close to the scene of the shooting. Werle was booked into jail for 1st Assault, other charges are pending.
Werle has been arrested numerous times for weapons and assault violations.

SPOKANE, Wash. - One person has been shot in Browne's addition and Spokane Police have an apartment complex surrounded as they search for the suspect.
It happened just before 6:00pm at the Pacific Terrace Apartments at Pacific and Hemlock. Police say the incident began as some sort of confrontation between a resident at the complex and someone laying carpet. The fight moved outside where the victim was shot in the head behind the ear. We are told he is walking and talking and his injuries are not life threatening.
The complex is surrounded right now as police think the suspect may still be inside, and he may still be armed.
