State Dpt. of Health Suspends Kennewick Doctor's License

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- A Kennewick physician has been told to stop practicing medicine. The state Department of Health issued a license suspension today.

Dr. John Perry is no longer allowed to practice here in Kennewick or in any other part of Washington. The Department of Health sent a statement of charges to Perry back in 2011. According to the Health Department, Perry agreed to a psychiatric evaluation. The evaluation, which was conducted by a professional in the field, stated that Dr. Perry suffers from an untreated personality disorder. This information helped the Medical Quality Assurance Commission make their decision.

"The evidence in this case that the commission received was a report from the evaluator who determined that in his professional opinion, Doctor Perry was impaired and should not be seeing patients," explained Suzanne Mager, an attorney for the Department of Health.

We reached out to Dr. Perry today but he was not prepared to make an official comment at this time. According to the department of health, Perry can request two hearings to appeal the decision.
