Wine Tasters Enjoy Tri-Cities And Boost Economy

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND Wash.- The Tri-Cities and the Yakima Valley were flooded with wine lovers this weekend. It was all for the 30th Annual Spring Barrel wine tasting event.

We stopped by Goose Ridge Winery in Richland Sunday afternoon where they boast special sales, vineyard tours and of course plenty of wine to taste. With locals and visitors alike taking part, spring barrel tasting isn't just a good time, it's good for the economy.

"It just increases our visibility of what a great area this is," said Jenn Nance, manager at Goose Ridge. "Wine is meant to be enjoyed by friends having a good time so the more the merrier and we welcome all kinds."

About 50 wineries and vineyards participated this weekend. Managers of the vineyards say next year they plan on making it even bigger and better. If you missed out on this weekends festivities, Walla Walla's Spring Barrel tasting is next weekend.
