PNWU Gives Children's Village $10,000

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.--Some local medical students handed over a big check to Children's Village Tuesday morning.

Students at Pacific Northwest University raised $10,000 for the Yakima medical facility through their annual "Run For Your Life" event.

More than 600 people ran and walked through downtown earlier this month to help children with special health care needs.

"I hope that the future for us is a close partnership and that we can work together on other projects," said Jackie McPhee at Children's Village. "The students are certainly supportive."

The $10,000 will be used for different services at Children's Village that are generally supported by the Yakima Valley Memorial Foundation.
