Electronic Evidence Presented in Richland Nanny Trial

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Electronic evidence was the main topic Wednesday in the trial of a Richland nanny accused of aggravated manslaughter.

Kelli Jacobsen is accused of causing injuries to 1-year-old Ryder Morrison that led to his death in June 2011.

Robert Benson, a Richland police detective with an expertise in forensic examination of digital media testified to the jury.

He spoke about what he found on Kelli Jacobsen and Ryder's mother, Tawney Johnson's, cell phones in the days leading up to the boy's death.

"We're talking about call history, text message, in some cases Internet history," says Benson.  "Typical user information on how the phone was used."

The trial is expected to last two more weeks.
