PENDLETON, Ore. - New information on the future of Rodeo City Inn, a 52-room motel near Pendleton. Umatilla County Commissioners voted Thursday to ask a circuit court judge to declare the motel a crime property, a move that could shut down the motel.
Commissioners can declare a place a crime property if any of 16 crimes - such as assault, theft, or sexual abuse - occur there three or more times within a 90-day period.
Umatilla County Sheriff's Deputies say they have responded to the inn 300 times this year.
Inn manager Drew Osias gave commissioners a letter from an attorney that said the vote could not take place because the county has not properly notified residents who live there.
