Wapato Man Dies After Rolling Vehicle Into Canal

UPDATE: A Wapato man died earlier this evening, after suffering injuries in a single car accident last night. 

On Thursday, Washington State Patrol say 69-year-old Antonio Carmona-Vazquez was driving northbound North Track Road, about one mile south of Wapato, when he lost control, drifted and struck a bridge guardrail.

His vehicle rolled into the canal upside down.

NEAR WAPATO, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol are investigating a single car accident that sent one man to the hospital after his car rolled into the canal Thursday evening.

Troopers say 69-year-old Antonio Carmona-Vazquez of Wapato was driving northbound North Track Road, about one mile south of Wapato, when he lost control, drifted and struck a bridge guardrail.

His vehicle rolled into the canal upside down. 

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. Troopers say Carmona-Vasquez was not wearing his seat belt. 

Carmona-Vasquez was taken to a regional hospital.
