YAKIMA, Wash.--Dozens of people lined the streets of Yakima Saturday to pay their respects to a fallen soldier.
Army Captain Aaron Blanchard of Selah was killed in Afghanistan last week. On Saturday, Captain Blanchard's body returned to the Yakima Valley. A procession of Patriot Guard Riders escorted his body to a funeral home.
The public is invited to a memorial service, Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stone Church in Yakima. Governor Jay Inslee also ordered flags across the state to be lowered to half-staff in memory of Blanchard.
