Students Go All Out in Blue for Juvenile Awareness

Posted: Updated:

WALLA WALLA, Wash.-  Kids in Walla Walla showed their support Friday for one of their classmates living with Juvenile Arthritis.

Students and teachers from the Walla Walla School District pulled out their blue clothes and sported them all day to help 12-year-old Allison Wanichek raise awareness that kids get arthritis too.

"It was really cool because I didn't think some of the kids would dress up. I was really surprised when I got to school. A ton of kids were wearing blue and it was just so awesome to see and hear about all the kids that were wearing blue to support this blue day and juvenile arthritis," said Wanichek.

Allison was diagnosed with the childhood disease two years ago and now spends her free time organizing events just like this one for Juvenile Arthritis Awareness.
