First Benton County Citizens Academy Graduation

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- 35 students will have the honor of graduating from the first Benton County Citizens Academy Tuesday.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office will host the graduation ceremony for the attendees.

Over the last six weeks, students in the academy have seen presentations from the sheriff's office, prosecutor's office and coroner's office.

Graduating students received classes on marine patrol, SWAT, K-9, civil, school resource officers, patrol procedures and gang awareness.

In addition, they also attended classes from the Corrections Division of the Sheriff's Office to include mental health and a review of the medical program.

The ceremony will take place Tuesday at 6 PM at the Benton County Justice Center in Courtroom B.

The Benton County Justice Center is located at 7122 W. Okanogan Place in Kennewick.
