Prosecutors Upgrade Charges in Death of Selah Toddler

Posted: Updated:

SELAH, Wash. - Yakima County prosecutors have upgraded the charges in the death of a toddler.

22-year-old David Holbrook now faces second degree murder charges in the death of his girlfriend's baby. He originally faced manslaughter charges.

Detectives say Holbrook had been watching the child, when he tossed her in the air, and she hit her head on the ceiling. The baby later died.

Court documents show Holbrook admitted to investigators that his "reckless" actions caused the toddler's death.

He remains in the Yakima County Jail on a $1 million bond.
