School Construction Bond Fails in Ellensburg

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- No new middle school for students in Ellensburg.

A bond measure to raise nearly $39-million officially failed Tuesday.
Proponents needed 60% approval for the bond to pass, but fell short by just a tenth of a percentage point.

The money would have gone toward a new middle school, replacing the Morgan campus, parts of which were built in the 1920's.
