Yakima Looking to Fill Vacant Board & Commission Chairs

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima's City Council is reaching out to the community and asking people to volunteer for several boards and commissions.

Right now, the Yakima Housing Authority Board has two vacancies.

The Yakima Arts Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, and Southeast Community Center Board also have vacancies.

The city says it's a way for people to contribute to their community.

"It's just a wonderful opportunity to volunteer your time, and it's not a lot of time, and it's a really good benefit for the citizens of your community," said Yakima City Clerk Sonya Claar Tee.

The city adds that the boards and commissions are all easy in terms of scheduling; they all meet either monthly or quarterly.
