PENDLETON, Ore. -- Oregon State Police say a morning two vehicle crash killed one of the two drivers Friday on SR Hwy 11 at MP 20 near Pendleton.
During the investigation, Troopers from the Pendleton Area Command say that a 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by 77-year-old Vincent Torrier of Walla Walla was northbound on SR Hwy 11 when he made a U-turn in front of a 2004 Ford F350 pick-up. The pick up was driven by 55-year-old Debora J. Alder of Hermiston.
The Ford Pick-up collided with the Toyota Corolla entrapping Torrier in the Corolla. Once Torrier was freed, he was air lifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla were he was pronounced deceased.
Torrier had a pet dog with him in his vehicle, who was treated for a minor injury and released to his next of kin.
Alder had three passengers in her vehicle - Allen R. Alder, age 54, Dana M. Hanson, age 22 - both of Hermiston, and a 10 year old juvenile from Pendleton.
No one in Alder's vehicle was injured.
Investigating troopers do not indicate at this time that intoxicants contributed to the crash.
