The pick up was driven by 55-year-old Debora J. Alder of Hermiston.

The Ford Pick-up collided with the Toyota Corolla entrapping Torrier in the Corolla. Once Torrier was freed, he was air lifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla were he was pronounced deceased.

Torrier had a pet dog with him in his vehicle, who was treated for a minor injury and released to his next of kin.

Alder had three passengers in her vehicle - Allen R. Alder, age 54, Dana M. Hanson, age 22 - both of Hermiston, and a 10 year old juvenile from Pendleton.

No one in Alder's vehicle was injured.
