Ellensburg School Bond Vote Headed to Recount

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- The fight to get a new middle school in Ellensburg isn't over just yet.

A group of community members has asked for a recount of the votes.

Earlier this week, the bond failed to pass by just over a tenth of a percentage point.

The five community members were required to pay a deposit for the recount , almost $1,700. But, the Kittitas County auditor says if the results change, they'll get their money back.

The recount will happen next Thursday.
