Paull's Hat-Trick Leads Ferris to State, Hanford Wins in 3A
SPOKANE - Senior striker Clayton Paull led the way with three goals for Ferris, as the Saxons topped Walla Walla 4-1 to punch their ticket to state.
The game was knotted 1-1 early on in the first half, but Ferris finally got some seperation with a goal from Paull. The Saxons took a 2-1 at the half.
Walla Walla had some chances to score in the second half, but once again Paull proved to be too much. The senior scored two more goals in the second half, with one coming nine seconds before time expired.
Ferris will play Mt. Rainier in Spokane next Tuesday.
In the 3A loser out game the Shadle Park Highlanders fell to Hanford, 2-0.
Will Bishop scored in the 1st half to put the Falcons up 1-0. Hanford added some insurance 44 seconds before halftime as Will Eldred found the back of the net to give Hanford the 2-0 lead.
That 2-0 lead was all the Falcons would need. Shadle's season comes to an end, while Hanford claims a trip to state.
