Senator Sharon Brown Files to Retain 8th District Seat

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Senator Sharon Brown has officially filed to retain her State Senate Seat in the 8th Legislative District.

Brown was unanimously selected by Benton County Commissioners last January to replace the Senate seat vacated by former State Senator Jerome Delvin.  Delvin resigned his Senate seat to assume his full-time responsibilities as a newly elected County Commissioner.

Senator Brown is endorsed by all 22 of her fellow Republican Senators, as well as Coalition Caucus Leader Rodney Tom (D-Medina) and Coalition Caucus Member and Senate President Pro Tem Tim Sheldon (D-Shelton), and endorsed by former gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi.

Since her appointment in January, Senator Brown has promoted fiscal responsibility in state government, advocating for a balanced budget that does not increase taxes.

She has also focused on legislation to reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses, and introduced legislation to make common sense changes to renewable energy laws that are driving up utility rates in Tri-Cities.
