Actors Needed for School Shooting Exercise

ZILLAH, Wash.- The Zillah School District is looking for actors for an upcoming emergency drill to prepare educators and first responders for an active shooter event.

The exercise takes place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11, and will involve educators, law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and hospital workers responding to a person with guns who has entered a school building during school hours.  To make the exercise realistic for the first responders, 100 volunteer actors will portray injured students, teachers, family members and reporters.

The school district says actors must be middle school age or older, and will need to be prepared to stay throughout the exercise. Student's time can be considered Community Service hours for PEARLS.

 Food and beverages will be provided.
