ZILLAH, Wash.- The Zillah School District is looking for
actors for an upcoming emergency drill to prepare educators and first
responders for an active shooter event.
The exercise takes place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11, and will
involve educators, law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and hospital
workers responding to a person with guns who has entered a school building during
school hours. To make the exercise realistic
for the first responders, 100 volunteer actors will portray injured students,
teachers, family members and reporters.
The school district says actors must be middle school age or
older, and will need to be prepared to stay throughout the exercise. Student's
time can be considered Community Service hours for PEARLS.
