RICHLAND, Wash. - The Bechtel-URS Feeding Families Food Drive raised more than $350 in just one hour Thursday.
It was a salad bar fundraiser at the Bechtel Building in Richland. The Food Drive benefits 2nd Harvest and is in its final week. 2nd Harvest says every dollar donated is equal to five meals for someone in need.
"We're charging five dollars a plate but of course the generous people here at WTP offer up much more than $5. Most of them, anyway," said Hilary Jamison of Bechtel.
"This is a way that we can help those that are less fortunate and we feel that's very important. Our contributions as a project last year funded 20% of 2nd Harvest's total annual budget," said Mark Lindholm of URS.
