Kamiakin Students and Staff Celebrate at Block Party

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kamiakin High School students, staff and community members soaked up the sun at their annual block party Thursday.

The high school was transformed into a carnival Thursday afternoon with a bounce house, henna tattoos live music and food.
Dozens of people showed up to have fun, and celebrate the school year winding down.

"We usually have a pretty good turnout. It's wrapping up, it's the end of the year, school is almost over. The weather is getting nicer out so people like to come out and hang out," said Kamiakin High School Student Makayla Womboldt.

The block party also doubled as a fundraiser, to help pay for other events such as homecoming and prom.
