New Candidates Filing For Yakima City Council Seats

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- New candidates continue to file for Yakima City Council seats.

Isidro Reynaga officially kicked off his campaign at Track 29 today. He is the previous owner of the Royal's Lounge and Club 54. Reynaga says he wants to focus on bringing in more business from outside Yakima.

He will run against incumbent Dave Ettl, a longtime radio host. Ettl is looking to make progress on a number of ongoing council projects including the first street clean up and the downtown economy.

"Prioritize, set goals, push for those goals, and keep moving along," Reynaga said.

NBC Right Now was not able to make contact with Dave Ettl Friday.

In the other council races, Bill Lover will face two challengers for re-election. Carole Folsom-Hill, the executive director of La Casa Hogar, and Enrique Jevons have filed to run against him. So far, no one has filed to run against Mayor Micah Cawley.
