Governor Inslee Announces Tri-Cities Judicial Appointment

Posted: Updated: - Governor Inslee says he is appointing George Fearing to the Court of Appeals, Division III, District 2.

Fearing is currently a partner at Leavy, Schults, Davis & Fearing in Kennewick. He has practiced law in the Tri-Cities area for over 30 years and has extensive civil litigation and appellate experience. He has also served on numerous community and civic organizations.

Fearing is replacing retiring Judge Dennis Sweeney. The appointment is effective June 24.

Both Fearing and John Gary Metro of Kennewick have filed for the position and will face each other in the August primary election.

The third candidate for the position, Benton County Deputy Prosecutor Terry Bloor, withdrew from the running Monday, eliminating this position from August's primary election.
