YAKIMA, Wash.-- Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson visited Yakima Wednesday to learn about local efforts to curb the gang problem.
Ferguson heard about Yakima County's Juvenile Gang Court and got an update on the Gang Free Initiative programs across the valley.
He says his office is dedicated to helping local officials get the resources they need to tackle the problem.
"I'm hear to listen and to learn from folks here in the county about what's going on and how we can help, in the Office of the Attorney General to use our resources to help folks here in Yakima County address this serious concern," said the Attorney General.
Ferguson says he's a strong supporter of our local efforts and even tried to start a juvenile gang court in King County using Yakima as the model.
