PASCO, Wash. - Franklin PUD is teaching kids about energy with their Traveling Renewable Energy Kiosk.
The transformed vehicle has everything from solar panels to wind turbines. It is used to show kids how energy is made and the importance of using renewable resources.
Inside, kids will find interactive displays to get a hands on learning experience.
"Touch the windmills, touch the solar panels, get asked real live electricity questions. It means a lot more to them and we feel it will really stick with them," said Debbie Bone-Harris with Franklin PUD.
The traveling kiosk was designed by Energy Northwest and a grant from the Bonneville Power Administration paid for the mobile unit.
Franklin PUD also takes it to businesses and trade shows.
