Kennewick Massage Practitioner Suspended for Sexual Misconduct

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A Kennewick massage therapist cannot see patients after state health officials suspended his license on charges of sexual misconduct.

The Washington State Department of Health said massage therapist Donald Brandsma touched two clients inappropriately.

The department said these types of cases are the hardest ones they have to deal with and they have no tolerance for a professional's sexual misconduct with a patient.

"Professional boundaries are crossed. A person should be able to go to a health care professional in Washington or anywhere else and expect to get professional coverage, professional treatment and not have to worry about people trying to take advantage of them."

Brandsma isn't allowed to practice until his charges are resolved.

The Department of Health offers documents online so you can search a health care provider's history.
