HERMISTON, Oregon- Early this morning in Hermiston, Police responded to an alarm going off in Rocky Heights Elementary School according to a press release. The building was searched after they found an open window.
Police say Alexandro Magana of Hermiston was found hiding in a cabinet with computer equipment belonging to the school. The responding officers took him into custody. He is charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.
Chief of Police Jason Edmiston stated in the press release,
"Though reactive to the alarm, it is extremely critical our department treats all calls for service with due diligence. This is the 226th alarm so far this year our dispatch center and officers have responded to. Perhaps just as important to us is the assistance we received from the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office on this call as our others officers were busy with arrests."
