POST FALLS -- High school girls basketball players from across the Inland Northwest competed in the 20th annual Region vs. Metro Jack Blair Memorial Classic Wednesday in Post Falls.

The Region team, comprised of players from outside of the Greater Spokane League, knocked off the GSL-filled Metro team 74-64. Brewster High School junior Chandler Smith took home the Most Valuable Player honors thanks to her game-high 15 points.

It was the three point shot that paved the way for Region. The winning team knocked down 10 shots from behind the arc, including four from Smith en route to the victory.

University senior guard and University of Montana-bound Kayleigh Valley led Metro with 11 points on the night, while Mead's Delany Junkermier and Gonzaga Prep's Otiona Gildon each added 10.

On the Region side, Coeur d'Alene junior Sydney Williams chipped in 12 points and future Sacramento State Hornet and current Post Falls senior Hallie Gennett dropped in 10 points.
