Southridge Sports Complex Recognized in National Magazine

KENNEWICK, Wash.-  The Southridge Sports Complex is recognized for its state-of-the-art facility in the 2013 Athletic Business magazine.

The magazine ranked the Southridge Complex one of the top 65 for its architectural design.

The complex off of highway 395 near Southridge High School recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.  The facility was in development for nearly 10 years before it was up and running.

The City of Kennewick says its original design is vastly different from what stands now.

Brandon Lange, the Southridge Sports Complex Marking Coordinator said, "We talked to different user groups and different people throughout the community. They really voiced what they wanted and they got what they wanted. It's shown with the number of people that have come through this complex in the first year."

Lange says what makes the Southridge Complex unique is that it combines both indoor and outdoor sports, recreation and event opportunities all at one site.
