Hanford High Student Wins Bronze at International Competition

RICHLAND, Wash. - A student at Hanford High School has placed in an international competition for sustainable world energy and engineering. 

Hanford High School sophomore Shanta Katipamula earned a Bronze Medal in the Energy Category at the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering & Environment Project Olympiad with her "Working Towards a Greener Future: Investigating the Most Efficient and Cost Effective Method to Obtain Hydrogen from Water" project. 

The Mid-Columbia Science Fair and the Washington State Science & Engineering Fair nominated Katipamula for the I-SWEEEP competition.

Next, she'll compete at the Genius Olympiad in Oswego, NY, mid-June.
