Remains Found in Ellensburg Belong to Animals, Not Humans

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Kittitas County sheriff's office says the bones found near an Ellensburg canal are not human.

The Undersheriff says the bones are from a coyote and a cow. Scientists are still analyze one fragment.

Deputies say investigators originally believed the bones discovered by cadaver dogs earlier this week could have possibly been the remains of 9-year-old Cody Haynes who disappeared in 2004. Deputies say they now know that's no longer the case.
